The Alresford Show

Success at the Alresford Show!

For the second year running Sun Hill Infant School won the Hampshire County Learning Competition and we have therefore retained our shiny silver trophy!

The children in Year 1 spent the summer learning all about agriculture and farming, visiting Laverstoke Farm and our local watercress beds.  The visits had a "farm to fork" focus and as well learning a lot about farming and agriculture in general they all made a delicious pizza which was sold to family and friends to raise money for next seasons planting.  Mrs Katherine Harrison Clow also runs a gardening club at the school, and two of our pupils, Rhys Sparkes Owen and Lewis Cornick were also successful coming first and second place respectively in the Novice Carrot growers class!
