EYFS Curriculum Intent
At Sun Hill Infant School we believe children deserve the best start to their education and in our Early Years we are committed to making the child the centre of all we do. We provide a stimulating, engaging and imaginative approach to learning. We support children to develop the confidence to ‘have a go’ themselves, ask for support when needed and develop the independence to learn by trial and error. Learning is approached with an open-ended attitude so all children are enabled to engage curiosity and exploration. We recognise that all children are different and individuality is celebrated and recognised. We strive to generate a warm, caring atmosphere which all children can participate, flourish and develop their love for learning.
We believe that learning both indoors and outdoors is integral for children’s development, well-being and confidence. The outside areas are seen as an extension of the classroom and will provide children opportunities to develop daily in all 7 learning areas encouraging exploration, investigation and independent learning.
