Week 5

Hi everyone!

We hope that you had a good Easter. We have lots and lots of exciting activities for you this week...

Not only is it St George’s day this week on the 23rd April but it is also the school’s birthday and this year the school would be 52 years old!

To celebrate this happy event, our weekly challenge is to show us what makes you happy. This  could be anything from people, places, animals, games or toys, weather, things you like to do, memories, etc. You can show this in any way that you like e.g. drawings, drama, models, technology etc. It would be great if you include a word within your photo so we know what it is that makes you happy.

As always, could you please email your ‘happiness’ photo to e.r.iley@sunhill-inf.hants.sch.uk by 4 o’clock on Thursday 24th April. Our video will then be uploaded to the website this Friday.

In assembly on Friday, Mrs Jones shared our sunflower growing challenge with you. You can collect a sunflower seed and a pot from the school porch from Monday morning. More details about this challenge are included in the document below...

As a school, we subscribe to Discovery Education so that the children can learn 'Coding' skills. As a result of school closures, Discovery Education have created a username and password for your child to practice their coding at home. This is an incredible resource and one that we hope you enjoy using. All the details are contained in the document below...
Mrs Rawlins has been inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, an artist that uses natural materials to create sculptures. She has created a video to share some of the artists work and one of her own creations. Take a look at her film, saved under the 'School Video' tab and then enjoy creating your very own Andy Goldsworthy sculpture at home. You can always email a photo of your art work to your teacher to share what you have made.
Mrs Stean has created another exciting science experiment for you this week...
And finally, Mrs Wilson has been incredibly busy creating some exciting and fun ideas for your home learning linked to fitness, art and DT. She really hopes you enjoy exploring these ideas!
